Recombinant Antibody Production

Custom Protein Expression (CPE) provides custom recombinant antibody production from your antibody sequence. Our service covers gene synthesis, mammalian expression, purification and quality control for antibody characterization and assay development. The standard production cycle is 12 business days from sequence confirmation, excluding shipping time.

Choose from full-length human, mouse and rabbit IgG, VHH and scFv formats, or supported bispecific designs. Share your sequence, target quantity and intended application so our technical team can review the production plan and define the delivery specifications.

Recombinant Antibody Production Workflow

The standard production cycle covers five stages over 12 business days, starting from sequence confirmation. Shipping time is additional.

  1. Day0

    Sequence confirmation

Confirm antibody sequences, format, target quantity and QC requirements.

  2. Day1

    Gene synthesis

Begin gene synthesis and preparation of the expression constructs.

  3. Day6

    Cell transfection

Introduce the expression constructs into the selected mammalian cells and proceed with expression.

  4. Day11

    Antibody purification

Purify the expressed antibody using a process suited to the construct.

  5. Day12

    QC and release

Complete the agreed quality checks and prepare the antibody and COA for shipment.

All milestones are counted in business days. The 12-business-day production cycle excludes shipping and transit time. Please provide your required receipt date so production and shipping can be scheduled accordingly.

Quality Control and Deliverables

Each project includes purified antibody and a COA. Agree on the required quantity and release specifications before production, particularly when the antibody will be used in a sensitive functional assay.

Antibody concentration

Reported in the COA

SDS-PAGE purity

At least 90%

Endotoxin

Less than 1 EU/mg

SEC-HPLC

Analytical data included in the COA

Any required acceptance threshold is agreed for the project.

What You Receive

  • Purified recombinant antibody. The agreed format, with guaranteed delivery quantity for the selected monoclonal antibody package. Bispecific quantities are defined separately.
  • A COA. Concentration, endotoxin, SDS-PAGE and SEC-HPLC results for the delivered material.

Discuss final concentration, buffer and any application-specific limits during project review so that these requirements can be assessed before work begins.

Optional Binding Characterization

ELISA-based binding analysis and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurements can be discussed as additional services. Provide the target antigen and experimental objective so the testing scope can be defined. Binding or affinity measurements are separate from the standard production QC package.

Research Applications

  • Antibody characterization. Obtain defined constructs for comparative binding studies and further evaluation.
  • Assay development. Prepare antibody reagents for ELISA development, screening and assay controls, with application suitability evaluated in your assay.
  • Engineered antibody research. Produce VHH, scFv and bispecific constructs for studies of different antibody architectures.

Purity and endotoxin measurements do not establish target binding or biological activity. If activity is a delivery requirement, discuss the relevant assay and acceptance criteria before production.

Project Information for Technical Review

Please provide antibody sequences, chain assignments and format, the desired quantity, intended application, required QC limits and target completion date. For bispecific antibodies, include the complete chain design and any relevant Fc or pairing modifications.
